This research document is the result of my initial work in fully understanding the concepts of human visual perception as it relates to computer based design from basic GUI design to complex three dimensional game graphic design. Before this topic is further expanded upon, it the basics should be understood. This includes how the human eye is made, how it work, what the brain does to affect the outcome, how objects and words are recognized, how the simple concept of a line can represent not only objects but also depth, movement and even emotion. Indeed, Grasshopper, there is much to learn in order to fool your viewers.

The contents of my research documents entail a full overview of the human visual perception processing and computer imagery capability, as well as the factors involved with specific visual phenomenon and methods. In order to comprehend the subject clearly, all such factors must be carefully considered. Realizing it is not just what is seen but also what is thought (or at least processed) is only one of several important aspects in understanding why people percieve images as they do.
