Klout integrates with quite a few popular Social Networks, such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and more. Once you integrate your other accounts, you can begin and set up a Profile for yourself as well as invite people you know to join and be rated. I'd been on Klout for about a week now. Here is my profile as it is displayed at the time of this writing. 　

As you can see, I am looking to gain some Klout in the topics of Writing, HTML5 and Technology. Each of these are rated by other people who will, hopefully, give you a "+k" on them and increase your rating. Here is where my ratings lie at around one week of being a member of Klout...

While you go about your Social Networking tasks, Klout tallies up a score and rates you on various aspects of how you interact, especially on the topics you proffess you are versed in. Here are some of the stats it acquires from Twitter...

 

Klout also computes many other factors, such as these here. First it gives you an analysis of your overall Klout score. 

To measure how much you influence other people, Klout formulates your Amplification... 

And then there is your "True Reach", or people you influence throughout your network...

　And for an interesting graph of how you interct with other in your Klout network, there is you Klout Style displayed on a board that depicts what kind of Social Networker you are. The true signifiance escapes me at the moment, but I am sure I will start seeing some interesting trends happening with this Style Board.

You can integrate this on your website with a Klout Badge that display your score, which is always a good thing as it not only displays your "Klout" in subject matter, but it also gives a link for people to go and connect with you or give your more +k points.

And along the way, as you give +K to others, tweet about adding a topic, add an influencer, you will get Acheivements. These are given as you increase your score and activity. If you would like to have some kind of a set goal to shoot for, see if you can do better than obtaining the following acheivements in this screenshot within a weeks time as I did...
