Answer
Many ask me about images and photos on thier websites or personal webpages. It is a bad thing to simply upload a photo straight from your digital camera mainly because it is in a very high resolution and the file size is enormous, making it download very SLOW when being viewed. You may not notice it yourself, it may be cached on your PC and browser, but trust me, other people wont be waiting to see your image. Plus it may be WAY to large in dimension to even be seen properly, as it overpowers the dimension of you computer screen.
There are ways to overcome this. Before uploading to the website, EDIT your images and photos so that they are not so huge in both filesize and dimension. Usually the act of resizing the image will do the trick and also cut down on the filesize. So CROP and/or RESIZE before uploading. HOW? Well, you may have an image editor on your PC. There are tons of different programs that will do this for you. However, you may not have such a program, or may use different PCs quite a bit.
Here I shall list several FREE Online Image Editors you can use right away. They will not only allow you to resize your image, but also spice it up with various features from adding Text to doing morphing into another image. But the MAIN thing is that they can Resize photos and images. And BE SURE to Download and SAVE the file when you are done Editing it to your liking. It is easy to make the mistake of not saving it, so be aware that you have to do so. It's on the internet only temporarily in the editor service until you do.
You can also reduce filesize by decreasing the amount of colrs used, by cropping the image as well resizing the entire image. I would 1st crop the image, then resize it. That should be enough to do the trick.
