Answer
There is a HUGE difference in that the Front-End is the normal access viewpoint, and the other is an Administrative one. The Back-End of the website is very important and allows access to very crucial things and should never be revealed or used by anyone not fully trusted.
Most things, including most administrative functions, can be handled by logging into the Front-End of the website. FRONT END Means going to your Website normally as any other website cisitor would, and logging into your website there.
The BACK-END is a more hidden, special Web-Address you can log into. Use the Back-End only to execute Backups of your site, or handle functions not available from the Front-End. ALWAYS make backups prior to making any significant changes to the site.
