When Websites Don't Look Right
You've been to this site tons of times, but all of a sudden, it looks wierd. But the website itself hasn't changed, it's just all different in how it appears. This could happen for a few reasons, from some spyware or malware to having visited a website with some bad code left behind. At any rate, it sucks, because alot of websites now look different, and you just want things to get back to normal again.
Let's take a look at a few things. Keep in mind that this is geared towards Internet Explorer 8. So one thing you could do for a quick fix right off the bat is to download an alternate browser, such as the Prowler or Mozilla FireFox. The setting there are at a normal default and things SHOULD look fine just by doing this.
Alright, so you still have to have IE going properly. First off, delete all your Cookies, Browsing History and whatnot to be rid of extranious interferences and such. Then check the following settings with IE running...
- Click on PAGE and check the Zoom setting. Is it at 100%? It should be.
- What about PAGE Text Size? Medium would suffice here.
- Next, check the Style under PAGE. It should be set to either No Style or Default Style
- Check the Screen Resolution of the PC your are using, too! (Display Properties)
